The Sequor Foundation was formed as a charitable foundation to provide support for programs across the State of Texas serving children at risk of encountering difficulty on the journey to adulthood. Sequor is the Latin derivative for “follow me”. Since 1998 Sequor has provided funding to many programs across Texas as well as several programs serving the adjoining State of Louisiana. Their focus has not changed since inception, and their funding has helped many children find the road to their long-term growth and development into adulthood.
One of Sequor’s most prized accomplishments was the creation of the Elda K. and Joseph F. Bradberry Recreation and Youth Development Chair at Texas A&M University. Sequor provided endowment funding for the chair which was then matched by Texas A&M University. Sequor helped fund this initiative in order to provide a repository of data and research on the effectiveness of youth serving programs.
In 2010 Sequor provided funding for the Youth Development Initiative also located at Texas A&M University. In honor of this contribution the initiative was renamed the Sequor Youth Development Initiative.
